The Cajun factory is located on the Iberia Parish Hwy. 608, 2.5 miles northeast of New Iberia, LA. The shipping point for both freight and express is New Iberia, LA. Cajun Sugar Cooperative, Inc., is the newest sugar factory in Louisiana, with its construction having been completed in October 1964.
Factory design and layout was by Industrial Consultants & Management Company of Coral Gables, FLA, with the facility erected by Wallace Industrial Constructors of Baton Rouge. The factory is owned by Cajun Sugar Cooperative, Inc., which was organized in December 1963. Membership consists of approximately 200 members operating farms in Iberia, St. Martin, Vermillion, Lafayette, Avoyelles, Rapides, and St. Mary parishes. Cajun's members supply 100% of the cane.
